The Forsyth Network for Business Professionals, a local networking group, is moving into its 5th year. The group has had over a 30% increase in membership in the past year.
The organization wants to be more than just a networking group. They have supported the local community through donations to local charities for needy families throughout the county. Recently the group presented Michael Hogan M.D., founder of L.E.A.D.E.R. a local non-profit foundation, with $300.
The monies go towards Driver's Education in Forsyth County high schools by funding driving simulators. Dr. Hogan explained that this program consists of 30 hours in the classroom and 12 hours on driving simulators. L.E.A.D.E.R. was founded 10 years ago and has continued to grow each year. The cost of maintaining this program is about $15,000 per school each year.
The Forsyth Network for Business Professionals has had the privilege, over the years, of donating to this worthy cause which affects all of us on the roads.
If a business is interested in the group, the first two meetings are free. After that, membership includes a one-time $50 initiation fee and monthly dues of $10. The organization has a "protected occupational classification" meaning basically that if the group already has a painter, they won't accept any more painters. The group meets from 11:30-12:30 PM every Thursday at Bello's Italian Restaurant, at 101 Meadow Drive in Cumming.
